To what extent has the internet changed the way we communicate? Are social networks generating new forms of consumption and personal relationships? How can companies take advantage of social networks for consumers‘ loyalty, by giving them what they most want and need in the new economy? This panel will stimulate reflection on these issues, presenting various experiences and points of view on innovation and entrepreneurship in industry and services, linked to the use of networks.

Panel 2 - "Low-carbon economy"


In the context of sustainability and social responsibility, the low-carbon economy pannel emphasizes the importance of entrepreneurial awareness and mobilization to reduce greenhouse gases emission. Reducing emissions is a great opportunity for innovation and generation of high value-added products. More than an environmental concern or statutory requirement, this pannel will discuss how the industry can gain competitive advantage through this new economy and present studies and practical examples that demonstrate these benefits to business competitiveness.

The theme of social innovation proposed in order to encourage industry to promote new business models in search of solutions (products or services) for a social problem or an opportunity for a particular community. Prospects for entrepreneurs, public administrators, civil society organizations and technology developers to use the diffuse creativity expressed by social innovations, enhancing its dissemination and replication; generating social, economic and environmental value.

Biomass refers to all biological organisms that could be used as energy source, such as vegetable oils, agricultural and forestry waste, anaerobic decomposition gas from organic matter (urban waste, sewage, etc.). Bioenergy is energy produced from liquid, solid or gas biomass through various technological routes, to produce primary energy and clean bio-fuels. With the presence of renowned experts, this pannel will discuss the use of biomass as energy source, providing sustainable opportunities facing the future of bioenergy.
